If you ever used an Amiga after it’s commodore demise, you would most likely have heard of www.amiga-hardware.com, and even visited a few times. Those who did a bit more with their machines apart from playing a casual game, would have bookmarked it forever. If you’ve never heard of it, it listed almost every piece of hardware related to the Amiga.

Then, a couple of years back, it’s owner decided to quit. The site is still up but doesn’t accept new entries. From then on there where a couple of alternatives, but nothing could capture the old site’s feeling and ease of use.

For me it was a site to miss. So, I started www.amiga-hardware.org in an effort to recreate the old site, using a modern platform suited to archiving information (mediawiki), while still retaining a similar design. The new site would allow everyone to contribute and edit content. I think it was an okay effort apart from one thing - it required a lot of work and time.

It’s domain renewal came and went. If you look it up, you most likely end up on a parking page or something. I’ve kinda lost interest after a few years, and I’m not sure anyone misses it. Here’s what it looked like (right click->view image for a larger image):
